What’s Your
Weight Loss Season?
One of my favorite bosses used to keep us entertained with
his perspective on everyday life. I remember him sharing once
that he stays pretty fit in the summer, because he’s busy
in his garden and finds so many other things he likes to do.
But in the winter, he said he just let’s himself get fat.
Funny, but I’m just the opposite.
Right now, the temperature in Virginia Beach is hovering around
95 degrees for most of the day. Now, this is not a dry heat.
(Although, personally, I’ve never gotten the difference
between dry heat and other heat. If you stick your head in an
oven the heat is dry, but it’s still hot!)
Anyway, this is a hot sticky heat and unlike my former boss,
it doesn’t make me want to get out in the garden or even
go to the beach. It makes me want to stay indoors and avoid
ALL unnecessary movement. It also makes me want to sleep more
in the hopes that time will pass more quickly and it will suddenly
be fall, which is my favorite season!
I also tend to get more bored in the summer and I’ve
always found eating to be great entertainment.
Now, please don’t take any of this to mean that I’ve
fallen off the weight loss wagon. I’m still committed
to my weight loss plan, regardless of the season. I’m
just realizing that this is one of the hardest times of the
year for me to lose weight and fall is the easiest time for
me to lose weight. That knowledge helps me to persevere.
So what about you? Do you find it easier to lose weight at
certain times of the year? Log
