Prayer Alert

-- When an alarm goes off and you have been sleeping, what happens? You wake up, and you arise to face the day.
When we hear about war breaking out somewhere it is like that alarm clock. It is time to rise up like a soldier in the army, and get ready to do battle.
That is what we must do at this time. We must lift our voices to heaven and pray for the peace of Jerusalem because these are troubling hours for our far away neighbors who tremble with every sound of a missile or bomb that goes off near their borders.
We cannot turn over and ignore their need for God’s divine intervention. We must arise to the occasion, and pray diligently and fervently. Would you sleep through a dangerous situation if someone said you could escape?
That is what prayer can do for the situation in Israel. Prayer changes things. Whole nations can be spared if a remnant of the people will pray. Sometimes God may wake people up in the night, even if for a few moments to pray.
It is as though a great wall is being put up that the enemy cannot get through. Prayer is a shield. Prayer is a weapon against the forces of evil. Let us raise our voices to Heaven's throne and
pray for peace in the Middle East. May Israel see the salvation of the Lord!
Psalm 122: 6-9 says,
"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels. For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, 'Peace be within you.' For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your prosperity." (NIV)
This is the time for the church of the living God. We must war in prayer tearing down the stronghold of the enemy over that nation. Can we pray in the day and night for the very land where Jesus was born, where His name is established, and where Kings bowed their knees to Him in worship?
The Bible is filled with the stories from that nation that God holds dear to His heart. He said He would bless those that bless Israel. Today is a moment in history where prophecy is being fulfilled, and we play a major part when we lift up our prayers to God on Israel's behalf.
Let us ask God for lives to be spared, right decisions to be made by those in authority, and wisdom over the people in all their affairs. We must listen to the Lord for His still, small voice. Our greatest weapon against the enemy is prayer! The alarm clock has gone off, so it is time to arise.
James 16 says,
"The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." (NKJV)
