CBN.com – Adonica was pregnant. She already had two children and didn’t think she could afford another. She certainly didn’t have the $250 deductible she needed for the baby’s delivery.
Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater, Florida, has spent the past 20 years working with Bay Area Pregnancy Centers, helping women like Adonica.
Demetrie Tragos of the Centers says, “Bay Area Pregnancy Centers sees over 2,000 clients a year, and over the past 15 years, over 2,000 babies have been saved because of this ministry. Bay Area Pregnancy Centers could not exist without Calvary Baptist Church.”
Pastor Willy Rice says, “We’ve had a great sense of the cause of social compassion and justice in reaching out to help people in Crisis Pregnancy Centers find alternatives other than abortion.”
Louise Rimer is the executive director. “We don’t give up on them once they have the baby,” she says. “We continue with these girls as long as they need us. We even carry clothes up to sizes 5 and 6. If we can reach the girl for Christ, we know this baby’s going to be safe.”
Bay Area Crisis Pregnancy Centers provided the money for Adonica’s hospital bill. She was blessed with a baby girl.
“Through Bay Area Pregnancy Center and Calvary Baptist, it does make a big difference,” says Adonica. “That’s one thing that’s very important in the neighborhood is that you have a church to always be there for you. We need someone like that. Now I have this wonderful little 10-year-old sitting beside me and, and that’s my joy.”
