Life for Baby Ru
By

"That
day when I stopped at the train station I was surprised to see a lot
of people crowding there. I thought it was a traffic accident at first,
but I found it was a little baby girl."
Little Ru Milan struggled to breathe, as she lay helpless
near the train station outside Beijing. Her mother had abandoned her - not merely
because she was a girl - but because she suffered from a very serious heart condition.
"I was afraid that she would freeze to death if no one took care of her.
So I picked her up and took her home." Immediately the family noticed that
the baby was struggling to breathe. They took her to the hospital where doctors
told the family she had pneumonia - and something far worse "The doctor
said she was in severe danger - that there was heavy noise in her heart's rhythm.
He said that this was very serious and that she would need open heart surgery
as soon as possible." There
was another major problem. Mr. Ru and his wife had no way to pay the $5000 for
the complex surgery.
"We could not afford the surgery fee. But we did not
want to give up. I missed her when she stayed in hospital. But I knew that she
could not afford to wait for the surgery." Mr. Ru works here in a small
family business in a town. But his income is not high enough to pay for the surgery.
And even after a friend offered to sell his car to help he didn't have the funds
needed to save baby Ru's life. So Mr. Ru contacted a nearby orphanage to see if
they could help. The orphanage contacted CBN China, and in a very short
time, CBN partners in China and the U.S. gave enough money to pay for the surgery.
Baby Ru came through with flying colors. "When
the surgery was finished, we thanked God for giving her a new life. And we do
thank everyone who helped her. We are so happy. We were able to take her home
after she got stronger."
There was one more miracle awaiting Baby Ru when
she arrived home from the hospital. Not only did she receive her new name - Ru
Milan - she was welcomed into her new family as the daughter Mr. Ru never had.
The Good Samaritan who rescued her from the side of the road has become her daddy!
"All of my 3 children are boys," he says with a smile. "So I think this
is a present for me from God. Ru Milan brings happiness to us, from dawn until
dark. My boys also enjoy her. Thank God for this valuable gift. And
because she is a gift from God, she is a child of destiny!
Mrs. Ru is also
thankful to CBN partners for this wonderful gift. "Thank God we are all in the
same family, with the same goals, with the same love in hearts. Thank you everyone!"
