CBN.com - Like any mom, Dessy was worried. Her baby daughter was developing a white film on the pupil of her left eye; and Dessy didn’t know what it was.
“My daughter can’t talk yet, so she can’t tell me yet how well she can see. I was pretty sure she was going blind; and I didn’t want that to happen,” Dessy says.
Unfortunately, her husband only makes approximately 100 dollars a month as a laborer. That meant they had to save for a long time just to take their daughter to be checked at the hospital.
“The doctor told us she had a cataract since birth,” Dessy says. “… I was told that she needed surgery immediately or she would go blind.”
But the couple had already spent all their money for the checkup. There was nothing left for the surgery. Dessy and her husband were devastated.
“I didn’t want my daughter to go blind. I was so afraid,” she says. “I was so afraid. Her eye is so vital to her future.”
