CBN.com —As the sun rises over the desert and the city of Minya, Egypt, Marian begins her work for the day. She’s a widow raising two children alone. In the recent past, she had no income, and the family was struggling.
“We had a lot of debt, and I have cancer,” Marian explains. “Neither the sickness nor the children understood that we had no money. They both kept saying, ‘We want. We want.’”
Marian is a Christian, so she prayed that God would help her. One day her daughter saw her crying.
“She asked, ‘mom, why are you crying?’ I told her because I don’t have any money. And she asked ‘Why don’t you open a store?’”
Marian borrowed a few dollars to buy and sell sugar, soap and tea. Then she heard about a CBN program for people who want to start businesses. We gave her the money she needed to open a small, well-stocked shop.
“Thank you so much!” says Marian excitedly. “I always pray to God, and I tell Him, if I am a widow, you are my husband. That’s what’s written in the Bible. And it is true - He is my husband, and the heavenly father of my children. He is looking after all of us!”
