Red Sea, Here I Come!

CBN.com – “Moses answered the people, ‘Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.’
Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.’ … Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.” Exodus 14:13-16, 21-22
Someone once said, “God has designed each day so that we can’t get through it without faith.”
The twenty-four-hour period will pass whether or not we trust God, and we may even still be alive at the end of it! The point is: How do we want to get through each day?
Moses had a pretty tough day ahead of him. In front of him and the thousands of frightened people was the Red Sea, and behind them was Pharaoh’s army. They could either drown or let the army use them for target practice. But instead, Moses put his faith in God. It became the most exciting and wonderful day of their lives. Walking through the Red Sea on dry ground must have been fun!
God put the Red Sea in front of the Israelites so they would have to trust Him, and they got to see His power demonstrated. He also gives us obstacles so our faith has a chance to grow. The opening night of the school play, the final biology test, and your first job interview are all opportunities for you to trust God.
Approach the Red Sea in your life with faith and confidence. God put it there to strengthen your walk with Him.
