Brenda Lee and Scott Ross
OK, let’s try it again guys, since due to “technical difficulties beyond my control,” this interview was postponed some time ago.
My interview with Brenda Lee is scheduled to air Tuesday, October 9th, on the 700 Club.
For those of you who go back to the musical history of the fifties and sixties and onward you will remember such Brenda hits as “Sweet Nothings”, “I’m Sorry”, “All Alone Am I”, and the perennial Christmas favorite, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, plus 250 other albums. This little lady, at four feet nine inches tall is still at it.
Brenda Lee has sold 100 million records worldwide. She has recently released a new album with some of music’s biggest names including Dolly Parton, Huey Lewis and Martina McBride. The new CD is called “Gospel Duets with Treasured Friends”.
Brenda Lee is the only woman who has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as well as the Country Music Hall of Fame
Brenda noted in her 700 Club interview with me:
"Few people realize it but long before I recorded 'I'm Sorry' and the pop hits that established me with audiences as a teenage pop artist in the '60s, I actually started my career as a child back in Georgia singing gospel music on weekends with the Masterworkers Quartet in Atlanta. To be so warmly embraced in gospel music is like a ‘welcome home’ from a very special family of friends at this point in my journey.”
Thanks all,
Scott Ross
