TRIP TO ISRAEL
In April, Sid led a Jewish evangelistic outreach in Jerusalem in which 650 unsaved Jewish people came to his lecture on the supernatural. After he spoke many Jewish people raised their hands to say they were healed. After Sid presented the gospel to them, he says, “Ninety eight percent of the 650 unsaved Jews stood to make a profession of faith in Jesus as Messiah.” Without a doubt, says Sid, “This is the most significant event in my 40 years of ministry.”
The biblical account of Pentecost and Paul’s missionary work may be the last time so many Jews in Israel received the Messiah. In fact, when Sid’s Messianic friend heard about hundreds of Jews receiving Messiah in Jerusalem recently, he simply did not believe it until he saw Sid’s video. There was an open door for the modern Messianic movement in the 1970s when many of the current Messianic leaders, such as Sid, received Yeshua as Messiah, but at that time, Israel was closed to the gospel. Now there is a fresh anointing to reach unsaved Jews, but this time Israel is open. Sid is passionate about reaching the unsaved Jews in Israel. He says the Jewish people are open to the gospel like never before. Sid’s new booklet, The Mystery Law of Evangelism Revealed, is available FREE online at www.SidRoth.org/Free.
SID’S STORY
Sid was raised in a traditional Jewish home and attended a traditional synagogue where he was bar mitzvah. Like most American Jews, he found organized religion irrelevant to his life. “I was proud of being Jewish, but bored with religion,” shares Sid. His god was money and his goal was to be a millionaire by age 30. By 29, he had graduated college, was married, the father of one daughter, and an account executive for Merrill Lynch. Although he had a great career, Sid felt like a failure because he was not a millionaire. He left his wife, daughter and Merrill Lynch and went searching for happiness. His search led him to Eastern meditation. “During this search, I almost lost my mind. Life was too difficult,” reveals Sid.
A Christian businessman began to challenge Sid that his Jewish Bible condemned his occult practices. He also told Sid that his Orthodox Jewish upbringing had carefully hidden Jesus as the Jewish Messiah from him. Sid was stunned, but began to read the Jewish Scriptures. As he read the Bible, Sid got the shock of his life. The New Age spirit guide that Sid had surrendered to begin to curse him from inside his mind. Previously, Sid thought he controlled this New Age spirit guide, but he now knew that was not true. “I had a power, a strong power, and it was evil. I went to sleep that night so full of fear, I wanted to die,” shares Sid. In desperation he prayed, “Jesus, help.” The next morning when he woke up, he knew immediately that the evil that had been inside of him was gone as well as his fear. In place of fear and desperation, Sid had a tangible peace and feeling of love that he had never experienced before. And he knew that Jesus was real. God saved Sid, returned him to his right mind, and restored his marriage and family. Sid’s entire immediate Jewish family, including his father, mother, sister and brother-in-law, came to know Jesus. And since 1972, he has devoted his life to telling Jewish people Jesus is our Messiah.
MESSIANC VISION
In 1977 Sid started a ministry called “Messianic Vision” and a nationally syndicated radio broadcast by the same name. Messianic Vision is more than a ministry or a program; it is a desire to reach out with the good news of the Messiah, “to the Jew first” (Romans 1:16). Sid says, “This is not just God’s historical order for spreading the gospel, but also His eternal spiritual order. When we follow this “law of evangelism,” God opens a supernatural door to reach Gentiles as well. God’s heart is to reach all people. His strategy is “to the Jew first.”
Sid’s TV program, It's Supernatural, was launched in1996 featuring guests who have experienced extraordinary healings, miracles and personal encounters with God. Recently, the show has begun airing on the Discovery Channel with over 200 million potential viewers in the U.S. and Canada. It’s Supernatural airs 28 times a week in Israel and other Middle Eastern countries like Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan. The show will soon begin airing across the Spanish-speaking world.
