Governor appointed Yedda to Executive Director of the VA Center for Healthy Communities
Co-Founder, The Center of Integrative Medicines, Richmond, VACBN.com “Americans dish out fattier foods in the winter than in the summer and end up packing away an extra 31 calories a day on average as a result,” says Yedda Stancil.
However, there is a "smart" way to deal with weight gain — SMART Approach: set Specific goals, make sure you can Measure it, your goal should be Attainable otherwise you’re setting yourself up for failure. Your goal should be Relevant to your overall health, and lastly set a Timeline for completing your goal.
The goals should be about six weeks apart and require more devotion each time. Yedda will be sharing exercises that the whole family can do while at home:
“It is very important to get cardiovascular activities in all day. While at work take the stairs instead of the elevator and when you are at home have your family take a walk around the block. There are many things that we can do on a consistent basis through the day to keep our body moving.” Yedda has based her weight loss motivations on Isaiah 55:2, “Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen and I will tell you where to get food that is good for the soul!” (NLT)
