Module 1 - Part 1: The Law of Use
Journal Notes
Why Journal?
Journaling is a way of recording and keeping track of your encounters with God. If you've never journaled before, you will discover that this discipline will help you learn how to listen for, and more clearly recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit as He ministers to you.
God loves you, and is always ready and waiting to talk with you about anything and everything. Whatever is important to you is important to Him as well. He has a specific plan for your life. He wants to lead you through it step by step. The more you hear His voice, the more you will be able to follow His promptings and walk the path that He has charted for you.
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me"
(John 10:27, King James Version [KJV])
Throughout this course, you are encouraged to journal your thoughts as you pray, read scripture, and reflect on the biblical principles. Ask God what He wants to share with you regarding the material. And when He speaks to you, and/or impresses things upon you, be ready to write them out with old-fashioned pencil and paper, or start a document on your computer that you can continue to update as you progress through the course. Some people even like to record audio or video of themselves or start a blog sharing their thoughts. Feel free to get creative and do what works best for you to make the material memorable and meaningful for you. If you are taking this course with a friend or small group, consider writing down any noteworthy points from discussion or thoughts you might have as a result of conversation.
Now that you have completed this part of the module, take a moment to journal some of your thoughts while they're still fresh in your mind and in your heart. Ask God what He wants to share with you regarding the material. And when He speaks to you, and/or impresses things upon you, be ready to record them in your journal.
