"The Story" in Song

Imagine what Mary, a teenager, must have been thinking when she came to grips with the reality that the Messiah was actually growing on the inside of her. Can you imagine the wonder? Can you imagine the fear? Can you imagine the uncertainty for the future?
Singer/songwriter Nichole Nordeman delved into her own soul to try to understand what was going on in the soul of this young Jewish girl 2,000 years ago. The lyrics she penned from this exploration are truly remarkable; along with orchestration of Bernie Herms, she wrote "Be Born in Me" for their newly released project titled Music Inspired By The Story.
Everything inside me cries for order
Everything inside me wants to hide
Is this shadow an angel or a warrior?
If God is pleased with me, why I am I so terrified?
Someone tell me I am only dreaming
Somehow help me see with Heaven’s eyes
And before my head agrees, my heart is on its knees
Holy is He. Blessed am I.
Be born in me
Be born in me
Trembling heart, somehow I believe
That You chose me
I’ll hold you in the beginning
You will hold me in the end
Every moment in the middle, make my heart your Bethlehem
Be born in me
As Francesca Battistelli sings these moving words, tears filled my eyes as I thought that God desires the same sacrifice of us as He did of Mary. He wants every believer to carry the Messiah within them -- and to pray: "make my heart your Bethlehem; be born in me."
Similar powerful lyrics are found throughout this dynamic new CD, which is an anthem of Scripture in song. For these reasons and more, I highly recommend Music Inspired By The Story.
The new 2-CD set and DVD contains 18 new songs (and videos) based on principle biblical characters and events telling God's story from Creation to The Second Coming and is being released in conjunction with authors/pastors Randy Frazee and Max Lucado’s The Story Experience. The complete artist-line up features 24 of today's top Christian artists, including Nordeman, Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Brandon Heath, Jeremy Camp, Darlene Zschech, Mandisa and more, with Brown Bannister and Bernie Herms at the production helm.
Lyrically, Nordeman wrote the songs from a first-person perspective using timeless biblical stories providing a completely new context into how God's story of love and redemption intersects with our story of brokenness and failures resulting in a new story of hope and rescue.
